HHS Graduation Rate Hits 91.8%

Haleyville High School has reached a 91.8% graduation rate. That number is up from the 74.1% of six years ago. HHS Principal Roger Satcher made the announcement at the Board of Education Tuesday night.

“It's been a team effort,” Satcher said; “I'm extremely proud of everyone.”

The BOE took the following action:

Approved expenditures for February, 2011, in the amount of $1,279,068.83;

Approved field trip requests for Auto Technology students, Ford AAA State Finals and Alabama Skill USA State Finals; FFA students to attend State FFA Convention; qualifying faculty and students to attend the National Renaissance Conference;

Amended the FY2011 Annual Budget;

Approved several fundraisers;

Approved the resignation of Brandi O’Rear as Parent Support Assistant (part-time) in the Parent Center at Haleyville Elementary;

Approved the Personal Leave Request of Christe Lee Romine for the 2011-2012 school year; and,

Approved for Emily Israel and Lane King not to be retained for the 2011-2012 school year.

Superintendent Clint A. Baggett reminded current employees who are required to file Economic Statements of Interests or “Ethics Reports” with the State of Alabama for last year must do so by April 30. The form can be completed and filed on-line at www.ethics.alabama.gov.

The next scheduled meeting of this Board is May 24, at HHS, 7 PM.
