The Haleyville City Board of Education met for a special called meeting Tuesday afternoon. All board members were present, and the following items were approved. 

-Establishment of quoram

-Agenda for the meeting

-Use of the Elementary School parking lot for the annual community wide fall festival October 26 sponsored by local churches

-Contract with the division of Risk Management to provide property insurance for FY 2014

-Request for retirement for Gaynell Berry

-Homecoming dance following the football game at HHS, sponsored by the Varsity Cheerleaders

The board then listened to a presentation from Ken Roberts, CFO for the Alabama Association of School Boards, regarding the position and hiring of a new Chief School Financial Officer.
