Traffic Fatality Highway 195

A two-vehicle crash today, Nov. 18, has claimed the life of a Double Springs woman.  Melissa Linette Lyon, 53, was killed when the 2003 Mazda Tribute she was driving collided with a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by Myra Jean Vickery, 41, of Double Springs.  Lyon was pronounced dead at the scene, and Vickery was transported to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper.  The crash occurred at 7:25 a.m. on Alabama 195 at the 28 mile marker, four miles north of Double Springs.  Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
