Lions Pluck Eagles for Win 3

The Haleyville Lions faced the East Lawrence Eagles Friday night in Game 3 of the season. The teams remained scoreless in the first quarter, but the Lions came out with a vengeance in the second quarter. Brady Sherrill scored three touchdowns on a 5 yard run, a 35 yard return on an interception, and a 48 yard run to take the Lions up 20-0. Blake Wilkes then threw a 10 yard pass to Jonas Dodd to add injury to insult and to give the Lions a 28-0 lead. In the third quarter, Wilkes passed to Dillon Posey for a 33 yard touchdown, and Sherrill added 7 more to the board on a 25 yard run to enter the fourth quarter leading 42-0. The Lions did not score in the final quarter of play, but the Eagles scored on a 50 yard run to reach the final 42-6 score.
