New Traffic Signals Cause Changes

The City of Haleyville recently updated traffic signals throughout the town.  The signals are now LED, which will save the city money each month due to decreased electricity costs. All traffic signals in town have been updated, and these updates have brought about a couple of changes.

The signals at the intersections of State Highway 195 and 14th and 15th Avenues now include a red arrow for turns onto Highway 195. You can no longer make right turns on red at those intersections.

Also, the signal at the intersection of State Highway 195 and State Highway 13 includes a left turn arrow for vehicles turning left onto Highway 13 from Highway 195. Because of this change, there will be a short delay in the change of the lights at 21st Street and Highway 13. However, it is expected to significantly decrease the problem of traffic backup toward the post office on State Highway 195. Please use caution in the area, and watch for other drivers who might be unaware of the change.
