Haleyville Police Department served a search warrant at 669 8th Avenue, Haleyville on March 14, 2013 around 3:15 p.m.  The search warrant resulted in the discovery of a very large methamphetamine production.  HPD officers recovered twenty-nine salt bottles, four cook bottles, and a variety of other manufacturing products. HPD officers had received information about suspicious activity at the home and went to the property to talk to the owners.  When officers went to the home, they saw manufacturing products on the premises and applied for a search warrant.  When the warrant was served, the suspect was not home.

Donald Eugene Ramey, 60, was arrested during a routine traffic stop on May 8, 2013 by Officers Jason Williams and Rodney Lewis. Ramey was charged with Manufacturing of Methamphetamine in the Second Degree.
