Home Destroyed by Fire

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Burleson, 787 County Highway 76, just off Hwy 129, was totally destroyed by fire which was reported just after midnight Saturday. Haleyville, Bear Creek and Delmar firemen fought the blaze for a couple of hours before being forced to pull back for a short period while thunderstom with lightening passed. The house countinued to burn through the rain and efforts of firefighters into the early morning hours. The Burleson's were out of town at the time of the fire and there were no occupants. The house and contents appeared to be a total loss and the cause is unknown.
