A fire late Friday night destroyed the 75,000sf PosterCraft Manufacturing building in Double Springs.

With only minor exterior damage, the office building was saved.

Charles "Casey" Jones, owner of PosterCraft, which manufactured bed mattresses, stated he intends to relocate and reopen as soon as he can find a suitable location. With 75 to 80 employees to put back to work, the company has orders to fill and no manufacturing facility.

Jones says he would like to re-locate in at least a 100 to 150 thousdand square foot building somewhere in Winston County. Originally from Mississippi, Jones said he had come to love this area and especially the people which is why he wants to keep the plant in Winston County.

Every fire department in Winston County as well as the Bear Creek Fire Department responded to assist the Double Springs Fire Department battle the all night blaze. Technically, a 12 alarm fire. Double Springs firemen were called back to the scene later on Saturday and once on Sunday to put out rekindles. The State Fire Marshall was called to the scene on Saturday and the cause of the fire is unknown at present.
