Marion County Schools will delay starting on Tuesday morning by 2 hours because of the icy weather conditions. Officials are hoping the delay will ensure roads will be clear of ice and fallen trees and limbs. With the delay of the opening of school, all buses will also be delayed 2 hours. There is no expected delay in the start of Haleyville or Winston County schools at this time.

A part of Bear Creek experienced an electrical outage Monday night as freezing rain and fallen trees and tree limbs took their toll. So far, there have been no reported injuries as a result of the weather. Most of the freezing rain and snow fell futher north mostly in the state of Tennessee.
