The Haleyville City Council met Monday evening and took the following action: rezoned the strip mall containing Newburg Qwik Mart to Neighborhood Business; approved the RC&D agreement for City Lake upgrade; transferred the cable franchise to Cobridge; approved alcohol sales for The Galley; hired Jesse Mark Milligan as a mechanic; re-appointed Johnny Thompson and Bud Wilson to the Water Board; appointed Clint Baggett to the Industrial Development Board; and declared a state of emergency to facilitate repairs and recovery needed after Sunday's fire at Fire/Rescue Station #2.

The next regular meeting of the council will be Monday, October 18, 7 PM.
