The Haleyville City Council met Monday evening and took the following action:

Approved the Sales Tax Holiday for the first weekend in August;

Approved the purchase of a new garbage truck for $119,621.50;

Approved advertising for bids for a new backhoe; and,

Approved advertising for and the hiring of four seasonal employees in the Street & Sanitation Department.

The Council meets again Monday, March 19, 11 AM, at City Hall.
