The Haleyville Board of Education met Tuesday night and took the following action: Approved substitute teacher list; paid property insurance (Risk Management) in the amount of $41,169.00; selected a voting delegate, Sandra Manasco, and alternate, Steve Stott, to represent the Board at AASB’s 2011 Convention and Delegate Assembly; approved fund Balance Policy in accordance with GASB Statement 54; selected Ruyne Rollins as candidate for AASB District 8 Director; set basketball season ticket price at $50.00; and, approved Revision of Salary Deductions Policy in Accordance with Alabama Code 16-22-6.

In personnel action the Board accepted the retirement of Carol O. Whitt, HES first grade teacher, effective December 31, 2011; accepted the retirement of Deborah C. Wood, HES music teacher, effective December 1, 2011; approved part time, temporary, supplemental employment of Christy Bice, Julie Brooks, Beverly Donaldson, Tiffany Donnan, Jennifer Russell, Lea Satcher, Steve Spiller, Suzanne Tyson, Julie Wilcoxson as teachers and Emile Gilbreath as substitute teacher for the 21st Century Community Learning Center after school program during the 2011-2012 school year; and approved part time, temporary, supplemental employment Kaci Bailey, Courtney Bennett, Marshall Burrell, Emily Cornelius, Alyssa Defoor, Leigha Edwards, Jacob Emerson, Madison Frederick, Billie Jack Jones, Lindsay King, Jesse Lamar, Whitney Lane, Miguel Marchant, Sarah Myers, Devin Norris, Alli O’Rear, Natalie Poole, Katie Sims, Brandon Terry and Matthew Wise as student aides for the 21st Century Community Learning Center After school program during the 2011 – 2012 school year.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 22, 7 PM, in the Board Room at Haleyville High School.
