Butler Arrested for New Murder Charges

Larry Butler, in Marion County Jail since June 30 on charges that he hired someone to kill his wife, has been arrested and charged with trying to hire someone to kill the person he is charged with hiring in the first conspiracy.

Assistant District Attorney Neal Cook said that the investigation began in early September and ended last Thursday with Butler being charged with two new counts: solicitation for murder and conspiracy to commit murder. 

Sources familiar with the case tell HBTV that Butler allegedly arranged for his cell mate to make bond in order to murder Ellie Walker. Walker is charged in the first attack on Butler's wife and mother-in-law and has subsequently cooperated with authorities. Law enforcement was tipped off concerning the new murder-for-hire plot and the investigation resulted in last week's arrest.
