The City Council voted Monday night to work with Winston County to widen Chickakee Road and install new pipe and culvert to stop erosion of the road. The project is estimated to cost $30,000, with the City contributing $10,000 from the 4-cent Gas Fund.

A public hearing has been scheduled for Monday, November 7, pending recommendation from the Planning Commission on amending the Zoning Ordinance. The amendment will address issues relatiing to parking spaces and retail development.

Will Walker was re-appointed by the Council to the Library Board of Trustees, a four-year term commencing October 1.

The next meeting will be Monday, November 7, 7 PM.
