$3 Million Bond Issued for Haleyville Water and Sewer Board

The Haleyville Water and Sewer Board issued a new bond Monday for $3,050,000 for the purpose of retiring a bond issued in 1994 and a local bank note. The new bond has a better interest rate plus no insurance was required for the new bond due to the excellent financial rating presently held by the water board. The savings immediately will allow a $12,000 per month less payment toward the retirement of the previous debts. Bond money will go toward refurbishing the existing water towers and replace several sewer pump stations which serve the Haleyville area.
