The City is in the early planning stages for a multi-field complex to accommodate adult and youth sports. The City Council Monday approved advertising its search for a suitable location.

The potential site will be 30 or more acres, have easy access, be within the city limits or adjacent, and will be easily gradable. All persons who have property meeting this criteria may submit information to the City. The City is looking for property owner's name, as listed on the tax record, and total acreage available.

Councilmember Jonathan Bennett said that this is the first phase of a one-and-a-half year process that doesn't commit the City. This phase is requesting information for review purposes only.

In other action, the Council approved the following: placing a street light near 2822 Littleville Road, advertising for bids for a dump truck, termination of a street and sanitation employee as of January 21, and transferring 9-1-1 festival monies to the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber will produce the 9-1-1 Festival this year.

The Council also moved its next meeting to February 22, 7 PM, City Hall.
