At the Haleyville Board of Education meeting Tuesday, Superintendent Clint A. Baggett told the board and the public, “Haleyville has shown what a loving, caring and giving community it is and we are proud of our students, faculty, staff and administrators for their participation in recognizing our own fallen hero, Mark Forester.”

Baggett also encouraged the public to vote on November 2, and asked that the public vote “YES” on Amendment #2.

In action, the Board expended $40,515.00 for property renewal insurance to Risk Management; selected Sandra Manasco as the voting delegate, and Beth McAlpine as her alternate, to AASB’s Delegate Assembly, December 2-4, 2010, in Birmingham; and approved four fundraisers.

In personnel action the Board approved Family Medical Leave of Christie Lee Romine, Haleyville Elementary School teacher to begin on or about December 8, 2010 and end March 18, 2011; approved Family Medical Leave of Lisa Bales, Haleyville Elementary lunchroom worker, retroactive to October 12, 2010 to October 31, 2010; and hired Kathryn Brooke Yarbrough as Kindergarten teacher at HES for the remainder of the school year, beginning November 1, 2010.

The next regular meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, November 23, 7 PM.
