Book Signing at Library

Kyle Geertsma, a resident of Haleyville, will hold a book signing at the Haleyville Public Library on Wednesday, September 29.  

“The Aquaintance” is Geerstma’s first published work, which is quite an accomplishment being that he is only 19 years old. The story is set in Africa, and the lead character is Adam Childe, who is a teenager in a time of chaos and change in a secluded African village. He is apart from the world, alone and without friends, and tormented by a merciless tyrant who relentlessly attempts to make slaves of his fellow villagers. In an immensely powerful and emotionally charged journey in to life and death, Adam finds the means to battle the world itself when he is comes in contact with death.
