Authorities from three agencies, acting on good information, arrested James Earl Valentine III, 46, of CR17 in Haleyville, Wednesday, and seized approximately one pound of marijuana and $17,000 in cash. Valentine was charged with First Degree Possession of Marijuana and transported to Winston County Jail.

The 25th Judicial District Court Referral Office, the 25th Judicial District District Attorney's Investigator and Haleyville Police participated in the operation. Authorities received information that Valentine "could be involved in illegal drug activity," said Chief Kyle Reogas of the Haleyville Police. Authorities arrived at Valentine's residence around 2 PM and a subsequent search revealed the marijuana and cash.

Valentine was arrested in April, 2008, and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and First Degree Possession of Marijuana. He was placed in the Pre-Trial Diversion Program administered by 25JDC CRO. 25JDC covers Winston and Marion counties.
