Steve Masterson told the Haleyville Rotary Club he began having musical gatherings in his front yard fourteen years ago. The annual event grew and a bigger better location was found near Natural Bridge. The first ever event at this location just inside Marion County will be Memorial Day week-end filled with acoustic instruments and singing. Not exactly blue grass, not exactly country, maybe a little of both in the form of jazz. Headliners include The Sam Bush band, The Herb Trotman Band, Tornado Rider and Dread Clampitt. Steve and several local people have donated many hours of work to make the location a great place to hear great music. You may camp out on the premise if you like, hot water showers are available. Music will be performed on a large covered stage in front of a grass covered terraced slope which makes a great natural amphitheater. Tickets for the weekend are $50, which as Steve explained: "the most expensive gate in the southeast that does not feature vehicles going around in a circle.." Incidentally, it is not a real cafe. No food is served, only live acoustic music.
