The Board of Education held its regular meeting Tuesday and took personnel actions, some that were necessitated by the FY2011 budget, and approved contracts for food.
The board transferred the following personnel: Jason Cooper to HHS math; Bo Wilcoxson to HES physical education; Keith Garner, adding physical education; and Joseph Faircloth to HMS math.
It also hired Myra Steel as manager of the HHS lunchroom and Wayne Frazier as half-time assistant principal at HHS. Frazier also was transferred to HHS math.
The board accepted the retirement of Daphne Benefield, effective June 1, 2010.
Three contracts were also approved, all were for food. The contracts are with Haleyville Mental Health Center, Community Action Partnership of North Alabama and Winston-Marion ARC.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25, 7 PM. Superintendent Clint Baggett indicated that there may be a need for a special meeting because of the education budget.
