Haleyville City Council Meeting

The Haleyville City council met Monday with Royce Benefield absent and approved the March general operation bills in the amount of $389,807.64. The council also approved an amendment to (1) Paragraph three of the the Written CDBG Procurement Policy to include the "Public Works Law (Title 39, Code of Alabama) - and all subsequent revisions" and (2) Section 5(a) of the Written CDBG Procurement Policy - as amended is changed to read as follows: "Small purchase - Used for purchases of "$15,000 or less."

The council also approved the resignation of Eddie Bryant as full-time police officer effective 4/21/15 and retain him on a part-time status and advertising for a full-time police officer.

The resignation of police dispatcher Gary tuck was approved effective 5/15/15. 

Mayor Ken Sunseri was reappointed to the Water and Sewer Board. 

Bebe Cox was appointed to the Library Board and Horace Moore and Melinda Weaver were appointed to the Winston County Industrial Development Board for 6 year terms.

City Attorney Jeff Mobley stated that after review Action Properties had provided enough proof to reach the threshold to receive a tax abatement.

It was noted Mayor Sunseri had hired the following for positions previously created and approved by the council: 

Park and Rec grounds keeper/maintenance - Austin Yealock at $10.50/hour and after a 90 day probation, a pay adjustment to $11.00/hour effective 4/16/15.

P&R Seasonal - Joran Egres at $9.50/hour effective pending pre-employment physical.

Relief Fireman - Kevin Patrick at $11.37/hour effective immediately.

The next scheduled council meeting will be Monday, May 4, 5:30 p.m. at the Neighborhood Facilities Building.
