The Haleyville City Council met for their first bi-monthly meeting Monday at city hall. Councilman Royce Benefield was absent. After approving the regular council minutes of 12/15/14, the council approved renewing a line of credit at Traders and Farmers Bank.

The council also approved a change order for work in the Cumens subdivision in order to utilize $55,000 unused grant money for additional curbing and guttering.

The city will be advertising for a street and sanitation employee to replace Doug Bell, who is retiring. Mayor Ken Sunseri announced he had hired Michael Dodd as an employee of the Street and Sanitation Department effective January 5, 2015. The Department had two vacancies, thus the reason for advertising for another employee.

The council meeting scheduled for January 19 was moved to Tuesday, January 20, due to Martin Luther King Day on the 19th.
