New Prospect Baptist Church will be having special services this Sunday, October 5, 2014. The congregation will be celebrating the 190th Anniversary of the church, and New Prospect Baptist is the oldest church in Winston County.

First, Sunday School Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. with worship services at 11:00 a.m. Following the church services, there will be a covered dish lunch in the Fellowship Hall. And at 1:30 p.m. there will be a historical program and singing in the cemetery led by Steve Turner. This program will outline the historical significance of the church’s cemetery where four Civil War soldiers are buried. The Alabama Baptist Historical Commission will also present New Prospect Baptist with a certificate of appreciation for the years of excellence and service to the Haleyville community.

Pastor Ron Horton invites everyone to attend to celebrate this occasion with the members of New Prospect Baptist Church. Several past pastors and members are expected to be in attendance for this event as well. New Prospect Baptist is located on State Highway 195 in the Needmore Community, just before Sight and Sound Video.
