UPDATE: A warming shelter has been opened at the Neighborhood Facilities Building in Haleyville. It will be open throughout the day Monday.

UPDATE: There are no road closures in this area. There may be some patches of black ice so be careful if traveling. Check out the link below for updates on road conditions for federal and state highways across the state.

As morning approaches and you need information about road conditions, use the website for the Alabama Department of Transportation. [CLICK HERE]  If you are using a mobile phone to check weather conditions, use this link instead. [CLICK HERE] These links will be good for updates on federal and state highways only. It will not include county and local roads.  Please DO NOT call your local police department or 9-1-1 to get weather and road condition updates. Use those lines for emergency use only. Tune to Paradise 92.7 and follow HBTV for all weather-related information. We will be keeping up with all information, including road conditions, in the listening area and will get the information out to you as soon as it is available to us.

Several warming shelters are also open in our area if you need a dry, warm place to wait out the winter storms. In Bear Creek, the basement of the Bobby Bishop Community Center is open. In Hackleburg, there are two locations. The first is the Senior Center located off Ray Road. The second will be the gymnasium on State Highway 172 across from the school.

If you have road conditions, shelters, or any other important weather-related information, please call 486-2277 to report it.
