LifePoint Hospitals, the parent company of Lakeland Community Hospital has established the LifePoint Hospitals Disaster Response Fund to help support felief and recovery efforts in Haiti. The fund is a major element of LifePoints Hope for Haiti initiative. Through March 1, LifePoint will match $1.25 to every $1 donated to the fund.

"The process of recovery and rebuilding in Haiti will not be easy," said LifePoint president and CEO William F. Carpenter III, "and it is important to our employees and affiliated physicians that we show our long-term commitment to the Haitian people."

LifePoint has committed to match all donations made up to $250,000. The fund will be administered by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and will be distributed to targeted relief and recovery organizations, including Samaritan's Purse and Heart to Heart International.
