Haleyville Board of Education

The Haleyville City Board of Education met Tuesday night for the regularly scheduled July meeting. All members were present, and the meeting began with the approval of the agenda and minutes from the last board meeting. There was no old business. The following items were approved as written and were passed unanimously unless otherwise noted. 

 

-Board expenditures for the months of May and June in the amounts of $1,223,743.50 and $1,219,549.00 respectively

 

-Bread bid to Piggly Wiggly for the 2013-2014 school year (Steve Stott abstained due to conflict of interest.)

 

-Revised salary schedule, supplement schedule, and athletic supplement schedule for the upcoming school year

 

-Field trip request for 4th and 5th graders and Lee Ann Richards to Dauphin Island Sea Lab Sept. 9-11

 

-HMS and HHS school fees, stipends, and charges for the school year

 

-HHS, HMS, and HES 2013-2014 Student Handbooks

 

-Haleyville City Schools 2013-2014 Code of Conduct

 

-Revised fall, winter, and spring coaching assignments for 2013-2014 for HMS and HHS

 

-Job description for Health Science teacher

 

-Job description for Technology Literacy teacher

 

-Drayer Physical Therapy for volunteer athletic trainers

 

 

 

-2013-2014 CNP Handbook

 

-Child Nutrition Policy

 

-Sick leave bank policy, as amended

 

-Substitute teacher and nurse list (Steve Stott abstained due to conflict of interest.)

 

-Contract with Paper and Chemical Supply for copier paper from June 30, 2013-June 30, 2014

 

-Sponsors and supplemental assignments for HES and HMS

 

-Superintendent Evaluation Instrument for the 2013-2014 contract

 

-Declaration of old serving line at HHS Lunchroom as surplus, obsolete, or unserviceable

 

-Volunteer coaches for the fall: Jordan Scott in football and Howie Lyons in cross country

 

-Fundraisers:

   *HMS yearbook sales for school year

   *HMS "Welcome Back to School Dance" August 29, 2013

   *HMS "Halloween Dance" October 29, 2013

   *HHS yearbook sales for school year

 

-Personnel Changes:

   *Hire of Tiffany Boyles as HES paraprofessional

   *Hire of Lisa Emmerson as Technology and Literacy Teacher

   *Hire of Misty Fannin as paraprofessional at HES

   *Hire of Cherie Fedder as Assistant Principal at HMS

   *Hire of Debra Millwood as paraprofessional at HHS

   *Hire of Jessica Steele as student aide in 21st Century Program

   *Hire of Linda Thomas as paraprofessional at HHS

   *Hire of Amy Townsend as paraprofessional at HHS

   *Hire of James White as Drafting and Design Teacher at HCT

   *Hire of Whitney Webb as Library and Media Specialist at HHS

   *Transfer of Marlene White as paraprofessional from HHS to HMS

   *Hire of Kenneth Tidwell as Special Education bus driver

   *Hire of Jennifer Baker as Health Science Teacher at HCT (Kris Burleson abstained.)

   *Approval of Family Medical Leave for Alyssa Elliott beginning around Sept. 13 and ending around Oct. 31

   *Resignation of Brock Dunn as Agriscience Teacher at HCT

 

The next regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting will be held August 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
