Members of the BCFD look at damage in the home.  Firemen inspect gear before entering the home.

The Bear Creek Fire Department and Bear Creek Police Department responded to a fire at a residence on Edge Road in Bear Creek Friday night. The home is owned by Frank Stone, who is a volunteer firefighter with BCFD. Stone was not at home at the time of the fire.  It began while heavy rains were pounding the area, but the cause of the fire is unknown at this time. A fireman in the area was able to contain the fire until the fire department arrived, and the fire was then quickly extinguished. There was significant damage to the back of the home where the fire was located.  There was also a lot of smoke damage throughout the home. Rob Taylor, Bear Creek Fire Chief, stated the fire will be investigated by the State Fire Marshalls' Office.
