The Haleyville High School Automotive Technology Program has two students participating in the National Automotive Technology Competition this week in Kansas City. Kent Glass and Jacob Cornelius are shown in the photo to the left visiting the arch in St. Louis on their journey to Kansas City.

Glass has been in the Auto Tech Program at HHS for three years. He is the 2013 Alabama Diesel Skills USA Champion.

Cornelius has been a member of the program for one year and is the 2013 Alabama Motorcycle Skills USA Champion.

Both students will compete in the national competition for the remainder of this week. Mike Bachelor, Auto Tech Program Sponsor, stated that both of these young men have been extremely dedicated and hard working while preparing for this competition. Both participate in dual enrollment with Bevill State Community College in Hamilton, hold full time jobs, and practice their auto tech skills for countless hours each week. Both show determination to win national titles in their respective fields in this competition. Good luck!
