The threat of severe weather Thursday afternoon brought the early dismisal of all Winston County Schools, including Haleyville. With heavy rains and thundershowers, it first appeared Winston County would escape any serious wind damage or injuries.
Winston County Sheriff Rick Harris reported the most extensive damage in the county was one totally destroyed mobile home, which left an occupant with a broken leg. The mobile home was on the same Winston County Road 45 near the Nesmith Community, where two other homes were damaged but not destroyed. The name of the injured is unknow at this time and this story will be updated Friday morning.
