Special Council Meeting

The Haleyville City Council held an emergency meeting Thursday to deal with three projects and to change the time of the November 5 council meeting.

Several sinkholes have revealed themselves at the old elementary school demolition project and have to be corrected prior to completion of the drainage and paving segment of the contract. The Council approved a change order for that project. Also, the Council approved engineering agreements with Garver, LLC, in the hope that one company will receive the paving contract for the North Industrial Park and 26th Street Sink Hole projects.

The Council changed its November 5 meeting, its next meeting, to 6 PM. Councilmembers will take the oath of office at that time in the Fire Station. The Council will then recess to the Courtroom for its regular meeting.
