Council Raises Business License Issuance Fees

With all members present the Haleyville city council met Monday and approved the minutes from their meeting on October 1. Also approved were the September general operationg bills for $388,978.84 and adjusting the city business license issuance fees from $10 to $12. The recent City Board of Education run-off election was canvassed and the council voted to approve the results certifying Steve Stott as the winner for place 3. A planned disscussion on a girls softball concession stand was tabled. The council approved advertising for a new leaf machine with vacumm to replace the 11 year-old model now being used. Bud Wilson stated the present machine will make it thru this fall with some repair work and it will be next spring before a new one can be delivered. A last minute agenda item, advertising for parttime police dispatchers was approved. With no other business, the council adjurned. The next scheduled city council meeting will be Monday, November 5, 11 a.m. at city hall.
