Double Springs Police, with the assistance of Haleyville Police, have made an arrest in a theft from “Big John's” on Highway 278. John Cornelius reported earlier in the week that two scooters, three chargers for them, five helmets and two tractor radiators were missing Monday.

HPD Lt. Tim Steien spotted one of the scooters at 12997 Alabama 13 near Haleyville and recovered it. That led to DSPD Chief Kim Miller obtaining an arrest warrant for James Franklin Fell, a/k/a “Bo”, 29, 12997 AL13, Haleyville. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with 2nd degree Theft of Property. He is in Winston County Jail on a $15,000 bond. The second scooter was recovered from an area pawn shop.

Miller said, “HPD has always been very helpful on cases that bleed over into the city. Kyle (Reogas), Tim (Steien) and all the officers have always gone out of their way to help us, and this is one of those times.”
