Alabama Department of Senior Services Commissioner Neal G. Morrison was in Haleyville Monday along with Rep. Robert Aderholt to present the City of Haleyville a $2,500 check for the city's Tornado Safe Room.

Morrison said that he has been trimming his budget in Montgomery so that he can get money out to programs around the state. He said, “We're glad because this money is actually getting back out to help seniors and that's what it's all about."

Morrison added that Aderholt and Governor Robert Bentley had both mentioned Haleyville's Tornado Safe Room to him.

Aderholt said, “(Morrison) and I worked very closely together on a lot of projects. I'm glad we can continue to work on projects to help Haleyvilleand the (Alabama) 4th (Congressional) District.”
