The Haleyville Board of Education met with all members present for their regular monthly meeting at the Haleyville Middle School. Under new business, Mrs. Judith Cooley discussed the letter sent home with every student which listed certain precautions to be taken. She stated students will be sent home with a temperature over 100 degrees who exhibit flu like symptoms. Reports were heard from administrators about other precautions being taken to stop the spread of the virus such as the use of hand sanitizer in many locations and frequent disinfections of the restrooms, lockers, desks and athletic locker rooms. School officials remind parents that although absenteeism for this time of the year is higher than usual, it is not all flu related. There have been reported cases of stomach viruses, Strep throat and bronchial infections. |
