Thunder, lightning and heavy rain resulted in the cancellation of all planned Friday night 9-1-1 Festival activities including the mini idol contest and street dance. Cooks set up for the Rotary 9-1-1 BBQ cook off fought off rain and wind, some losing tents and one team calling it quits and leaving. Saturday morning began with rain. lightning and high winds which threatened the car show, idol contest and BBQ cook off. The weather finally broke, remaining cloudy and cool but the 9-1-1 Festival got underway. The Lions Club first annual car show had 27 vehicles, somewhat short of their expectation, but considering the weather, it was a great success, along with the idol contest and cook off. |
