The Advanced Welding Class at Haleyville High recently completed the fabrication and welding of a wheeled carrier for a protective shield used by police in hostile situations. The shear weight of the bullet proof shield can become a problem for officers attempting to carry it for any distance or time. The carrier built by the high school students will aid officers in making the shield mobile while holding it in an upright position.
