$172,601.00 RAISED FOR RELAY FOR LIFE

Winston County has again shown support for the American Cancer Society with their billfolds. Beverly Donaldson wished to thank everyone who helped make this year's drive a success. The amount was "especially impressive," she said, "considering such hard economic times." The fund raising effort culminated Saturday with the Relay for Life event at the Winston County High Stadium. The afternoon began with a survivors reception and the first walk by survivors. The day was full of activities ranging from musical entertainment, volleyball and fun skits, ending with the luminaries just after dark.
