Whereas, the president of Northwest-Shoals Community College on February 6, 2009, announced a current shortfall of 2.1 million dollars for the 2009-10 budget with the possibility of reduction in force of faculty and staff, and

Whereas, a new administrative alignment has been announced dated February 16, 2009, in which three administrators were given promotions including salary increases, and

Whereas, a new staff position (secretary III) was created for the vice
President of Instruction's office and announce on January 20, 2009, and

Whereas, an additional administrative position (Assistant Dean of
Academic Services) was created and announced on February 12, 2009, and

Whereas, the elimination of student scholarships and student programs
are being recommended by this administration while at the same time
adding administrative positions and salaries, therefore

We the faculty of Northwest-shoals Community College, Phil Campbell,
hereby resolve to appeal to President Lee and his Administration to
immediately reconsider and rescind these actions mentioned above,
taking a more fiscally responsible path of preserving student programs
and scholarships rather than adding to an already inflated
administrative staff.
