With Mayor Albright and councilman Tim Edwards absent, Mayor Pro Tem Jimmy Elliott presided over the meeting which included Johnny Frazier, Bobby Jack Fuller and Barry Warren.
The council was unable to approve the minutes from the last two council meetings because of a lack of quorum of members who had attended the previous meetings.
The council did approve the May operation bills and the comprehensive plan as submitted by Ken Sunseri for the Haleyville Chamber of Commerce at last week's council meeting. As pointed out, this does not entail actually initiating any of the plan or spending any money at this point. It simply means the city has a published plan and can use the it as a guide for future planning.
Also approved was advertising for a public hearing for an application for a sprinkler system for the head start building on 14th Avenue. The hearing will be held immediately before the next council meeting.
The next council meeting will be Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m. at city hall.
