Haleyville City Council March 20, 2007 Mayor Albright and all council members present.

Approved regular council meeting minutes 3/6/07. Approved February general operation bills. Heard report from Russell Crooks with Parsons/FAA about the new PAPI  lights recently installed at the Haleyville airport. (Lighting system will make approaches to runway safer for pilots)  Next will be a new automated weather reporting station that should be  built soon. Approved Phase II of downtown revitalization. (Sidewalks, street lamps, landscaping on remaining area downtown to included paving). Haleyville's matching part of an $800,000  plus project will be  approximately $230,000. Paving is a separate project. Both the matching and paving funding will come from bond money that  the city already has available. Approved new subdivision regulations (ORD #2007-06) Approved advertising for police secretary. (Judy Wise is taking a  medical retirement) Approved pay adjustment for Christy Harbin to $9 hour. Approved the purchase of three tazers to be used by Haleyville Police. (Funding comes from captured drug money, no cost to city) Next scheduled city council meeting will be Tuesday, April 3, 6 p.m. at city hall.
