Judy Renee Perry, 40, was fatally shot as she went to the door of her mobile home in a trailer park on County Road 48. According to a neighbor, she was shot once and fell forward onto her porch. Renee's father-in-law, Freddie Barnett, who was approaching the doorway behind Renee was shot once. According to a witness, the alleged shooter, Katrina Alexander, 37, Newburg Road, Haleyville, left the scene in a white Pontiac and was stopped and arrested a short time later. She is presently in the Winston County jail charged with murder. Freddie Barnett was transported from the scene by Air Evac helicopter to UAH, Huntsville. Alexander is charged with capital murder, murder and assault first degree. The Winston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting. |
