Miller Family Cemetery Contains Pioneer Remains

Geraldine (Miller) Oliver and granddaughter Regina (Miller) Taylor look over the site of the Miller Family Cemetery located at 6th Avenue and 10th Street in South Haleyville. Through contact with members of the Haleyville Historical Society the family was given information on obtaining a family cemetery marker from the State of Alabama. The first step is a physical address. Family members drove to the lot in South Haleyville to secure the information and to look for any resemblance of markers related to their family cemetery. Two areas of interest on the lot piqued curiosity and could easily be identified as being markers belonging to deceased Miller family members.

Jimmy Brents the current owner shared his memories with the Miller family stating he remembers his Mother (the previous owner) placing a fence around the cemetery. Plans are to pursue documentation on both the Miller Family Cemetery and Miller's Stand to preserve the historic relationship to Haleyville.
