The Haleyville Fire Department's annual Christmas dinner was held at the Haleyville fire station with two special presentations. The Fireman of the Year Award was presented to Randy Williams and the Driver of the Year award was presented to Wayne Berry. Service Pens were presented to Wayne Berry with 40 years as a firemen, Ronnie Wilson and J.P. Haley with 30 years each and Ralph Edwards with 15. Ten year pens went to David Cummings, Paul Holley, Dean Morgan and Frank Stone. Five year pens went to Craig Thomas and Steve Ward.

Fire Chief Phillip Weaver stated that Haleyville now has 24 fully certified firefighters (Fire Fighter 1) and 16 Fire Fighter 2 qualified volunteers. Haleyville also has several qualified instructors that not only train HFD members, but firemen from surrounding fire departments.
