In March, 2003, Linda Swann accepted her current position with Alabama Development Office where she manages the Alabama Film Office and the Community Services Division (Existing Industry and Community Development Programs). She also oversees targeted marketing and planning activities for business development. Prior to joining ADO, her consulting firm, Economic Development Services & Strategies, offered assistance in the design and implementation of effective programs including community and economic development organizational models; information systems development and management; site identification, selection and documentation; existing industry support; target marketing; and market research and intelligence on national and international markets. Linda previously served as the Director of Business Information with the staff of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama. Earlier in her career, she served as Associate Director for Alabama Power’s Alabama Resource Centers in Birmingham and Montgomery, and as Manager of Research and Existing Industry Assistance at the Gadsden-Etowah County Industrial Development Authority. In addition to achieving and maintaining the designation as Certified Economic Developer, Linda is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in mathematical statistics, an award-winning graduate of Economic Development Institute at University of Oklahoma, and a graduate of Alabama’s Intensive Economic Development Training. A Past President and Honorary Life Member of the Southern Economic Development Council, Linda also served two terms on the Boards of Directors for the American Economic Development Council (now known as the International Economic Development Council) and the Economic Development Association of Alabama.
