DIXIE YOUTH ALL-STAR BASEBALL TEAMS-PLAYERS & SCHEDULE
Friday
(July 15, 2005) night wrapped up the District 1 west 11 & 12 year old tournament
at the Haleyville Dixie Youth Baseball fields. Muscle Shoals American faced undefeated
Underwood for the Championship and to advance to the state tournament at Dothan.
Underwood scored 3 times in the first inning and Muscle Shoals come back in the
second with 2.
In the fourth Blake Holliman put a ball over the fence to tie
the game. In the fifth Muscle Shoals scored another to go ahead. The bottom of
the fifth came alive with a couple walks and four singles to score 7. In the top
of the sixth Underwood's defense held Muscle Shoals for a final of 10 to 4. Congratulations
to Underwood for their victory and good luck at the State Tournament. Congratulations
to Muscle Shoals as the runners up. All teams should be proud of there efforts
throughout this tournament.
I would like to thank everyone for attending the
tournament, for the help given by volunteers, and our District Directors for letting
us host the tournament.

We had some great games at the Haleyville Dixie Youth Tuesday night.
On the South Field at 6:00 Green Hill played a tough game against Red Bay.
Red Bay was in scoring position many times but Greenhill held for a 2 to 0 win.
On the North Field home team Haleyville was defected by Underwood 6 to 0.
At 8:00 Moulton faced Muscle Shoals American in what was a hard fought battle
with Muscle Shoals prevailing for a 3 to 1 win.
Slated for Wednesday night, at 6:00 on the south field will be Haleyville vs. Moulton.
On the north field will be Winfield vs. Greenhill and at 8:00 a big game between the two
undefeated teams, Muscle Shoals will play Underwood.
These games could be concluded by Friday or Saturday with the winner moving on to the state tournament.
