June general operation bills. Heard
a report from Ken Sunseri representing the Christmas decoration committee. Sunseri
stated the committee had not made a decision on their choice of decorations for
downtown and highways 13 and 195. The committee plans to hear a proposal from
local supplier Doug Kennedy before making a final recommendation to the council. Passed
a resolution approving fund raising efforts by the committee to purchase lights
and decorations. Estimated cost approximately $40,000
Approved hiring three street and sanitation employees: Billy Henderson, Walter
Knight, Jr., Tammy Borden -
Approved recommendation for two volunteer firemen who have already been approved
by Haleyville firemen: Terry Burleson and Justin McClusky.
- During
the comments period Mayor Albright disclosed the official opening and ribbon cutting
for downtown Haleyville should be next week. The exact date and time to be announced.
- The
next Haleyville Council meeting will be Tuesday, August 2, 5:30 PM at city hall.
