Accessory Shop on 195 Fell Victim to Robbery | ||||||||

& Grab at Reece's
June 7 |
On
June 7 at 2:15 AM a concerned motorist called 911 to report a vehicle had smashed
into Reece's Accessory Shop on 195. Two Haleyville police officers responded and
speeds in excess of 90 mph up Macedonia Road were hindered due to fog. The Winston
County Sheriff's Department was called in to assist and the vehicle was discovered
on Co Rd 32. Apprehended and arrested were two individuals; Cary Lee Abbott, Sr.,
33 of Haleyville and one juvenile age 14 of Haleyville. Further investigation
by the Haleyville Police Department led to the arrest of a third person, James
Earl Hyde (seen to the left) on June 10, 2005. These adults are facing a variety
of felony charges that could result in 2 - 20 years in prison, plus $10,000 in
fines. The adults are incarcerated in the Winston County Jail under bonds totallig
$15,000. The juvenile was released to the custodial parent. If
convicted these two could face anywhere from 2 to 20 years & up to $10,000
